Bridgette + Micah's Blue Rock Estate Wedding

I almost didn’t make it. I could barely believe it. I came to a complete stop on the highway, when I noticed a helicopter flying curiously close to the ground. Traffic was stopped. People were getting out of their cars and I was sticking my phone in the air trying to get a signal and slightly panicking. I was also furiously texting my first shooter and praying that the texts would send. Quickly, I rerouted myself and I was only about 10 minutes late along with other wedding goers who also got stuck in traffic behind the helicopter. Couples and Photographers: If the unexpected can happen, it will. Plan ahead, have an alternate route, and pick up a paper map for those moments when cell phone service fails.

Luckily, the photographer I was second shooting for is a complete professional and ready for any situation that comes her way. I’m so grateful I got the chance to 2nd shoot this beautiful wedding with Heather Johnston Photography.

If you’re a photographer, and you aren’t part of any of the many awesome photo communities on Facebook, then you’re really missing out. Although, I don’t update my personal Facebook page as often as I did in the past, I am all over those photo communities absorbing all the FREE knowledge, opinions and experience that’s available. That’s how I came to know Heather Johnston of Heather Johnston Photography. She’s the is best, so go check out her work.

If you need some tips on how to have a small beautiful and timeless wedding, take a cue from Bridgette and Micah. Their small wedding had all the light and beautiful Texas scenery you would ever need, along with a bloody mary station, outdoor dance floor and two adorable donkeys!

Congrats to the lovely couple! I’m so glad I got to be part of this stunning wedding.
