Katie + Jeremy // Multicultural Austin Wedding at The Sanctuary
Katie and Jeremy met four and a half years ago when they worked at the same restaurant togetherβ he was a cook and she was a waitress.
Katie told me she was always conveniently running into him at work and after a few weeks, she asked him out. They had a great time, and the rest is history! Their relationship has been built with so much care on so much respect, love, and honestyβ not just for each other, but also for Katieβs six year old son Reznor. Theyβre a great team and theyβre really perfect for each other.
Their wedding was in early August at The Sanctuary Event Space, which is part of the Amala Foundation just South of the river in Austin, Texas. Their outdoor space is beautiful, open and hidden away under large live oaks.
Katie's amazing mother found me and reached out to me while I was in Hawaii earlier this year, so I actually didn't meet Katie and Jeremy until their wedding day. But I'm so glad she did and I'm happy that Katie and Jeremy were able to find each other and celebrate their joy with all the people they care about. They seriously emanate joy.
At this wedding, we were all a little concerned about rain coming down because Austin has been uncharacteristically rainy lately. Luckily, the rain never came. Torchy's cooked up the best tacos ever and Morgan at Wellspring Floral filled the space with her amazing arrangements.
There were so many small details that made this wedding great. Beautiful details that I can't forget to mention:
Silver bells for the exit - great alternative to sparklers
Lavender honey as keepsakes for the guests
Baby photo polaroids as a cake topper
Programs doubling as fans
The tree ceremony
Tom's shoes for all the people in the bridal party
Custom flask for the groom
The polaroid station and memory book
The giant live oak covered in photos of Katie and Jeremy
This wedding was a blast and Iβm so excited to share the photos with you. Scroll down to take a look!
