Tasha + Gaby // The Saguaro Wedding
Tasha and Gaby's colorful, tiny wedding at The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs was my actual last wedding of 2017. They contacted me just a month or two before their wedding, but since December isn't a busy month for most wedding vendors I had their date free. It's funny, because recently I've had more people booking me a month or two in advance and more people booking me 2 years in advance!
I got along with Gaby immediately, and I knew that if she was great Tasha would be great too. As it turns out, I was right! They're both such lovely, fun people, who are up for anything.
They met at Northeastern in Boston, and started dating their senior year. Tasha asked herself who the girl in the yellow Crocs was...and it turned out to be Gaby. After they graduated, they went long distance and Tasha did Teach for America.
They were going to have their wedding in Vegas, but closer to the date they decided to have a little bit of a bigger wedding. They love the Saguaro, and they were going to Las Vegas to see Celine Dion for their honeymoon and Gaby's birthday, so it worked out perfectly.
They got married on the lawn of the Saguaro. It's super colorful and vibrant, with rainbow accents everywhere. There are so many great spots for photos, and plus Palm Springs is just the best. It was so much fun being there for a few days.
Gaby's family came from Puerto Rico for the wedding and all of the men at the wedding wore these great Guayabera shirts. They had a little wall display of donuts for dessert instead of cake, and followed the Puerto Rican tradition of giving all the women at the wedding a gift of perfume.
I spent some time before the wedding taking photos of Gaby, so I got to spend some time with her mom and sister who are just as awesome as she is. Tasha's family was equally great, and her dad built a backdrop with a bunch of rainbow ribbons attached to it for the wedding.
I wish I could have spent more time with this couple and their families. Everyone was just so happy and looked so beautiful, and it was so much fun.
