Ana + Sean // Multicultural New Hampshire Wedding
Ana and Sean had their lovely wedding in Portsmouth, New Hampshire at the Wentworth by the Sea and are planning on another wedding in Honduras, where Ana’s family is from. Wentworth by the Sea is a really classic and really beautiful venue and probably the best hotel venue I’ve been to. It was the perfect size for their wedding and the grounds were very accessible and lent itself to weddings.
I love Portsmouth. It’s the perfect little New England town and it reminded me a lot of Cape Cod, but it definitely still had its own flavor. I stayed in a great Airbnb full of little apartments with a beautiful common space and backyard garden less than 10 minutes from Wentworth by the Sea.
Wentworth has a huge getting ready room, which is so helpful when you have a lot of people. While everyone was getting ready, I took a few portraits of Sean’s amazing parents. Sometimes at weddings, people are afraid to ask the photographer for photos but that’s often the only time everyone is all together, all dressed up, and feeling their best! So I’m really glad they asked and that I got to take their photos, and they were so grateful.
The wedding was planned perfectly, with time for everything. The wedding itself was in a little garden in front of the hotel, and it was sweet and traditional. Afterward, we took photos just behind the garden along the grass and at a nearby dock that Ana and Sean spotted for photos.
Just after family photos were done, we drove out to a spot with a little view of a lighthouse and took photos there for just a few minutes. The Wentworth had amazing service— they had golf carts and vans ready to go at any moment to take us anywhere we wanted to go. When we were done, we just popped back into the van and went straight back to the venue.
When we got there, Ana changed into another dress that was easier to dance in. She and Sean did this amazing choreographed dance that they had been practicing with a dance instructor for months. It was a mix of incredible Latin dances and it totally blew my mind.
Ana and Sean are some of the most gracious people I’ve ever met. They really took care of their vendors and really care about everyone in their lives. I’m so grateful that they trusted me to fly out to New Hampshire to photograph their wedding.
