Ana + Sean // Houston Engagement Session

Ana and Sean are both so great. Ana is an engineer and Sean is a physical therapist. They live in Houston and they're going to be having a small, high-end wedding in New Hampshire where Sean is from. They found a great venue where Sean actually went to prom and they both love it, and they already told me there's going to be lobster tail at the wedding so I'm super excited for that. I'm flying to New York for an engagement session, and then I'll be taking Amtrak to New Hampshire for their wedding. I had a great trip on Amtrak across PA awhile ago so I'm actually excited for the Amtrak trip, too.

After their wedding in New Hampshire, they'll be having a second wedding in Honduras where her family is from.

Their engagement session was my first engagement shoot in Houston, so I did a bunch of research to try to find the spots with the most potential online. I found a few spots I liked and they were totally up for it. We walked around their neighborhood, Montrose, and went to the Water Wall, this huge wall of water in the city, around the outside of McGovern Centennial Gardens, and Gus and Lyndall Wortham Park.

Photos of the Water Wall that I had seen online really did not do it justice. It's overwhelmingly large and so cool! Ana and Sean were standing 10 feet in front of it and almost got soaked because the air is just so full of water. If you're planning on including this spot in your engagement session, I recommend going here last.

We were planning on going inside McGovern Centennial Gardens too, but it ended up being closed for another wedding so we walked around the area outside of it and got some great shots there, too. After that, we got dinner and drinks at this amazing Lord of the Rings themed spot called the Hobbit Cafe, which was great because I only recently sat down and watched Fellowship of the Ring all the way through(it's on Netflix). I'm so glad I did though because it turns out I really enjoyed it.

After dinner, I went to an Asian market and picked up a bunch of baked goods on my way home. I don't have a ton of opportunities to go to Houston, but it's one of those places I want to go even more. I was so glad I went to Houston and so glad I got to hang out with and take photos of this amazing couple!
