Jenn + Lucy // Family Photoshoot

I mostly focus on weddings and the occasional headshot or event shoot, so this photoshoot with Jenn and her baby Lucy was really sweet and special. Jenn is an Austin-based wedding planner (her business is called Burlap and Rose) who I’ve worked with before at Krissy and Harry’s Plant at Kyle wedding. I’ll be working with her again at a wedding next year, which I’m excited for!

I did Jenn’s maternity shoot at Prospect House last year, and she wanted to work together again to get some shots of Lucy while she’s still one. There’s a huge Texas tradition of getting photos done in blue bonnets. They grow everywhere in the springtime, and they’re the state flower. They’re beautiful and people will stop anywhere for them!

Jenn found a beautiful patch of blue bonnets near a friend’s house, so we made plans to go out there and get photos of Lucy. It was a nice change for me and photographing a one-year-old was definitely a different experience! They’re not willing to let you take their photo for a long time, and when they’re done they’re done.
