Jenna + Kurt // Vista West Ranch Wedding
I only have wonderful things to say about Jenna and Kurt. I first met Jenna in Buda to chat about her wedding. I knew she I was going to like her when she rode up on an adorable cruiser bike. Jenna is a teacher and Kurt is a crane operator, they're down to earth, and always ready for a party or a laugh. Jenna and Kurt are the ones that planned that COOL engagement at the plateau on the property of a piano repairman way out west of Austin.
Hereβs what Jenna shared with me about their relationship:
"We knew each other and were friends in high school but went to different schools in the Hill Country. Then I went to college and he went to work and we did not see or talk to each other for 4 years. Then on NYE night, my friends dragged my out of the house and we went out!
Kurt and I ran into each other and sparks were immediate. He tried for over a month to take me on a date, to which I was reluctant because I all I could think about what 17-18 year old Kurt...but through his charm and persistence I eventually caved! And ever since our first date, we have been inseparable! It's one of those "still gives me butterflies" kind of things, and I am forever thankful to have found someone so sincere and caring to be in love with!
Fast forward 3 years...the day before my birthday Kurt took me out to a nice steakhouse downtown ... something we rarely do! I thought it was a birthday treat! We had a fabulous dinner and as we got in his car to leave, he told me to put on a blindfold (he brought my sleeping mask haha) and drove us to an undisclosed destination. He walked me into the building, told me to uncover my eyes, when I opened we were in ABGB, the location of our first date.
All my family and his family were standing in front of us and they said "SURPRISE!" I was still thinking it was for my birthday and was very confused why my family was here for my 26th birthday on a Sunday...at 9 pm. Then I felt a tapping on my back, and when I turned around Kurt was on one knee...and I lost it. It was beautiful and a complete surprise!"
Their wedding was awesome. They were married at Vista West Ranch - the venue with space for everything. It was a wedding where it felt like everyone was smiling from the moment it started to the moment it ended.
I really loved that they were married on the anniversary of Jenna's parent's wedding too. Jenna and Kurt made sure to set aside time to surprise them with a mini photoshoot during the reception to celebrate. It's the first time I've seen anyone do this and it was so wonderful. Jenna's bridal party and her dad also put on a musical performance during the reception. Her sister sang, her dad played the tambourine, and one of her friends played the ukulele.
Y'all, please consider having a live musical performance at your wedding, itβs sort of the best.
The night ended with a send-off and their Jeep. It was a perfect night! Check out the other incredible vendors below and scroll down to look through some of my favorite photos.
